Touchpad doesn't work when i am pressing a key other than a modifier key

I cannot move the mouse pointer if any key other than modifier keys like shift and ctrl are pressed using the touchpad. An external mouse seems to work tho. Is this a bug or a setting I can change?
I’m using a Lenovo G580(laptop) with Manjaro KDE minimal install.

Does this have something to do with KDE or X11?

Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.15.16-1-MANJARO (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-3120M CPU @ 2.50GHz
Memory: 3.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® HD Graphics 4000

Go to Settings > Hardware > Input Devices > Touchpad > General and uncheck “Disable while typing” and apply.
