Touchpad does not restart after wakeup from suspend (Lenovo ThinkPad E540)

I’ve been struggling with this problem since I installed Manjaro and the solution posted in this thread does not work. It returns:

Restarting TouchPad just in case
/usr/bin/restart.touchpad.sh: line 5: xinput: command not found
/usr/bin/restart-touchpad.sh line 6: xinput: command not found

I assume this is because the touchpad on my E540 has a different hardware id, but where do I find this? Or am I completely off-base?

:+1: Welcome to Manjaro! :+1:

  1. Please read this:
    How to provide good information
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…

  2. An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Also, please copy-paste that output in-between 3 backticks ``` at the beginning and end of the code/text.

  3. Your profile says you’re on kernel 5.9 and that’s EOL, so install both 5.4 and 5.10 LTS (Long Term Support) and see if the problem doesn’t go away automagically. :innocent:
If it does, delete 5.9 and keep both 5.10 and 5.4.
