Titles disappearing from Gnome after resuming from suspension

Hi there,

The recent update was the most devastating I have ever experienced. I managed to fix a problem of my laptop screen not being recognized thanks to some aid in the update post (downgrading optimus-manager), but now I find a weirder issue.

Everything works fine until I suspend the system; then when I log back in most of the text in Gnome-related stuff (extensions like the dock, the application menu, even the login screen itself, etc) is just gone for good. The applications themselves work fine, it’s just the DE. Here I attach a screenshot:

My specs are:

Thanks for your attention

Edit: added full specs (inxi -Fazy) as requested

Those are not your full system specs. Please edit your post and paste the full output of inxi -Fazy.

Can you reproduce the issue with no extensions enabled? Open Exensions, toggle the main switch at the top, then logout / login.

Can you reproduce the issue creating a new user?

Hi Yochanan,

Thanks for the fast reply. I just added the full specs as requested. After toggling off the extensions and login/logout, I can’t reproduce it. Weird enough, turning them back on I can’t reproduce it either. I’ll wait and see if it happens again, but I have no clue of what it could have been the cause.

If it happens again, it’s time to play process of elimination with your extensions.

You may also be able to see which extension is acting up by watching the log:

journalctl -f -o cat /usr/bin/gnome-shell

5.13 is eol. switch to a newer and supported kernel and see if this still happens:
