Three monitors on the notebook, two regularly go off

Hello to you, I operate the notebook screen and two external monitors on my Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th Gen. The notebook is on a dock and connected via Thunderbolt. Now all 3 monitors initially work well. However, after about 15 minutes, first one external monitor and then the second external monitor go off and then turn on again after a few seconds. Suddenly an external monitor stops working.

Can I do something about it?

Configure your system’s power settings and disable screen power off - you may need to look at physical screens power settings as well.

Thank you! That’s an approach, I’ll try it out!

Too bad it hasn’t worked yet! I deactivated the auto-off on the monitor and configured the energy settings on the notebook. The result was that the external monitors suddenly went off and could not be activated again. Then I unplugged both HDMI cables and plugged them back in. I have now reset the monitors to factory settings. Unfortunately I haven’t found a solution to the problem!

Update: After rewiring, I was able to work for half an hour without any errors! I’ll keep watching!

Oh no! I was happy too early, both external ones went out again briefly!

Would installing KDE with Wayland be another approach that could promise success?

No! I tested the live KDE-system!

Cannot say - cannot promise.

From this side of the issue it looks like something local - perhaps over-stretching the capabilities aka high expectations - perhaps something is running hot - perhaps fluctuations in your hub setup - it is really hard to provide any meaningful response - at least as I see it.

Yes, thank you very much! I’m sending my new docking station back! It’s a shame, I really liked it otherwise! I have to find a new one that also works for Linux!
