Thoughts on how Plasma 6.2 will handle brightness

Yes. And it’s very annoying when all your displays turn to 100% brightness after every reboot or after locking screen… with no option to disable this crap from settings. Or adjust the brightness at all from settings.

Thanks for the blog post though, it seems I have to re-enable systray brightness thingie to be even able to software control and set the values for the brightness again instead of going through all 3 affected monitors one by one via physical button menus… who knows why they decided it’s not necessary to include the per-display brightness controls in normal settings… :man_facepalming:

@deemon you can go to the KDE forums and complain about their half-baked features. For sure they will say: We might improve or fix it in an upcoming release

This is the best place for discussing Plasma if a solution can’t be found here…

I can’t disagree with Philm here - though brightness is working okay for me, I really didn’t need it. Lots of KDE devs in Discuss, so get an account there… ask them and then work out if it’s worth contributing a bug report.

And, if you seriously wish to help to find a solution…
