Thinkpad A485 suspend not working and how to optimize it for battery and reduce heat

I just bought a Thinkpad A485 with AMD Ryzen 5 2500U. I have installed latest Manjaro KDE with Kernel version 4.20. The installation worked perfectly without adding any boot parameters.
But having following problems. I need your help figuring out the fix for them.

  1. Suspend is not working. After suspending the system and trying to turn it on with power button, the screen is not waking up. I have to force restart the system every time to use it again.
  2. the system always feel hot at the bottom. I think it is because the Vega GPU is active. I don’t know how to check whether it is active or not. any tool to configure these CPU/GPU related settings, undervolting, anything to avoid heating up the machine?
  3. I normally use powertop to optimize system settings for battery. But it exits with a segmentation fault every time is started. I don’t find any query online for this and posting that here. Here is the full error message of

Don’t know about the first 2 issues. But for the 3rd, have you updated today?

Thanks for replying. I have installed today’s updates and it fixed the powertop issue. Any idea how to check whether GPU is active?
