The sound driver is not being detected on my LG Gram laptop

(It may be awkward because the translation is done with ChatGPT.)
I am using an LG Gram laptop, and I have installed two SSDs—one for Windows and one for Manjaro.
My CPU is an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, and my GPU is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop.

The problem is that in Manjaro, there is no sound, possibly because the audio driver is not properly recognized. However, when I used other Linux distributions, the sound worked fine in most cases.

I am interested in this field but still not very knowledgeable, so I tried various suggestions from Gemini, such as installing recommended software or forcing the system to recognize sound by adding files manually. However, none of these attempts have worked, and I still have no sound.

How can I fix this issue or get the audio driver to work properly?

Hi there,

For using the terminal to get output in English you need to use ‘LC_ALL=C’ before the command:

Get the output of:

 LC_ALL=C inxi -zv8

Pasted between ‘backticks’
```
paste code here
```

It is also possible that you can post in the section for native languages - we’d be interested to know what your language is (even if we can’t understand it too well there might be members who do).

Did you install the sof-firmware package? Or do you use “snd_hda_intel”? Could you post the output of pactl list cards?

No need to apologise for the translation. Just use deepl.com or apertium.org to get a proper translation. Better for the climate too.

It seems they are using sof-firmware.

Please provide the output of pacman -Q sof-firmware.

Did you try to select different output devices or to change audio profiles. You can do so if you click on the speaker icon on Plasma’s bottom panel. With right click you can go to configuration of audio devices. If you left click you should see a list of output devices (possibly only one output device is shown). There are 3 vertical dots on the right hand side of the output device. Clicking there you can try different audio profiles.

The pro-audio card profile is used to access pipewire-jack audio server and it is usually recommended to install a Graph GUI tool (qpwgraph or similar) to manage audio connections

To use the default audio server pipewire-pulse, change the card profile to:
HiFi (HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, Mic1, Mic2, Speaker)
