The popup display text is black when you hover over a title bar in Firefox, or Thunderbird mail

I have several computers with the latest plasma update. I’ve only ran into this issue on one computer, and that is when I hover over a bookmark on Firefox or a subject in Thunderbird mail, the display is totally black, and you can’t read the subject. I’m on X11 and I even switched it to Wayland and that didn’t make any difference. I also tried to switch to different theme as search suggested with no luck. Here are the screenshots of hovering over a bookmark subject.

I am unable to confirm this issue

Welcome to the Manjaro community

As a new or infrequent forum user, please take some time to familiarise yourself with Forum requirements, and the many ways to use the forum to your benefit.

To that end, links are provided (below) - Please use them.

Be prepared to provide outputs from various commands when asked. It’s equally important to provide as much actionable information as possible in your first post, rather than simply indicating there is a problem.

Waiting for someone to blindly ask questions is also counter-productive – typically, nobody has a :crystal_ball: at their disposal – Instead, please help others to make informed suggestions, based on information you provide.

The Update Announcements contain important information and a Known Issues and Solutions section that should generally be checked before posting a request for support.

While information from *-fetch type apps might be fine for someone wishing to buy your computer, for Support purposes it’s better to ask your system directly; :eyes:

Output of the inxi command (with appropriate parameters, and formatted according to forum guidelines) will generate information useful for those wishing to help:

inxi --filter --verbosity=8

or the short form (preferred):

inxi -zv8

It could be due to the GTK theme you have set in Plasma’s System Settings. Try:

System Settings → Appearance & Style → Colors & Themes → Application Style → Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style

I have mine set to Breeze & everything appears as it should in GTK apps such as firefox.

Also, maybe your color scheme is clashing with the GTK theme, with dark text appearing on a dark background, making it invisible.

Do Firefox and Manjaro use default themes ?

Manjaro has a default theme. It’s called Breath, it is based on Breeze.

When you set up your Plasma desktop it is best to ensure that GTK apps like Firefox use the Breeze Theme

system-settings -> Colors and Themes -> Application Style -> Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style -> Breeze

Yes, it had to do with the application colors & themes. I was able to fix it after messing with the the colors and themes.

Thanks again!
