[Testing Update] 2024-10-10 - Plasma 6.2, Gnome 47, Mesa, Firefox

Hi,

Same here, have to set it again in the Appearance and Style && Colours and themes
First time it happen with a plasma 6 update, I hope no more in the future :-)

Issue with the Login Screen (SDDM) on start up with the default one, Breath, is broken, no problem to log, have to set it again in System Settings an other theme like Breeze, my default one.

While briefly testing this update, most games running on NVIDIA as secondary GPU are being shown at half the screen refresh rate (tldr game shows 60fps, looks like 30) Most probably caused by kwin bug.
I’ve seen this bug recurring almost every plasma update. No issues on plasma 6.1

When playing a video on my Meteor Lake system with hardware acceleration, mpv crashes. Stable branch is not affected.

After testing update 2024-10-10 mpv hardware acceleration works again. :+1:

Also by bumping up xftalpha if you use that, nice for text on desktop with no background.

Hello,
I noticed 2 problems with the update to plasma 6.2

  1. as mentioned above, the sddm Breath does not work.
  2. The accentuation of colors from the wallpaper does not work on what is related to plasmoids (see screenshot)

Expected operation of plasma 6.2

Manjaro plasma 6.2

Thanks for your feedback, same issue on my side.
By default I set my DE with the breeze theme, not breath.
After the 6.2 plasma update breath is the default one, no luck this one is buggy

J’ai par contre constatĂ© que d’autres bugs Ă©taient eux corrigĂ©s , youpi.

2 posts were split to a new topic: Pamac is not working, however pacman and paru are working

with this latest plasma 6.2 update, the desktop icons lose position every time the screen locks then unlocks or play a game then return to the desktop (i am assuming every time it refreshes the desktop)
