Hey there. Once again I bricked my system and could need some help. I feel I stacked up some failures so I thought to acquire some help before extending this combo. May you be able to deliver the combo breaker!
So my initial problem occurred when I tried to do a normal system update via pamac update
.
Since I had these conflicts between openJDK and openJRE I tried to resolve these and continue with the update. I don’t exactly remember what I did to resolve the conflict. Stuff I found in this forum. I don’t think this is of interest for now but I’m sure if it is you will let me know. However, somehow I managed that the update would proceed. But the next time I took a look at my computer it was off and restarting showed the typical ‘/boot/vmlinuz-X’ not found
message so I started into my manjaro live distro and proceeded with these instructions. I run the following commands
[ -f /var/lib/pacman/db.lck ] && rm -f /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
pacman-mirrors -f && pacman -Syyu
update-grub
exit
and except that update-grub
command couldn’t be found everything seemed fine. I restarted into my system but the kernel still wasnt able to load. I was able to select another kernel tho and start into the system. I run an pacman -Syu
and restarted. This time i wasn’t able to start into any of the kernels anymore but therefore received this little present:

Because it seems I make everything worse I assumed it would be smart to ask people who actually know what they are doing. I do have timeshift backups. I’m not sure what would make more sense at this point. Trying to fix the system or restore a timeshift backup. Also i’d like to understand what actually happened here. O community - have patience with me.
