You can search for what these two are for - the important thing here though is:
you need to remove one or the other to resolve the conflict - and tlp definitely is not essential
I wasn’t sure how to remove tlp (not a programmer). So I used the pamac, searched for tlp, found one and removed it. The system is now updating. But some failed to retrieve.
Just for the future, note that you are using a custom mirror file which appears to contain only a single mirror. -f/--fasttrack 5 is trying to find the top 5 from your list of 1. You will probably have better luck adding a few more North American mirrors.
I have a new problem, likely related. After an overnight cold boot, my system is usable but something is going on in the background. I tried to print, but my printer is no longer functioning. The HP app does not boot. I tried to re-install it but was told that another update is installing so I have to wait for it to finish. No disk activity now. The HP app apparently reinstalled but still is not working. I am not sure how to proceed.
Too new at this. Trying to solve problems noted above and now my HP Device Manager program will not recognise my printer. It worked this morning. Everything happens at once!
Just a reminder:
packages in the ignore list are a recipe for desaster (or at least for more problems down the line)
usually not a good idea to have any there
Hitting the minus sign seems to just put them back in the ignore lists. I would like to empty the ignore list. There are too many there to do one at a time!
