Hello, I am new to the forum hope this is where I should be posting and how. Believe it or not I have never posted to a forum before. Installed ver. 25 everything went fine. Conducted several updates via command line all went fine. About to do the first complete backup, added 1 more update at the end of Dec. 25 (70 files approx.) system stopped during reboot. I can attach an image showing where the failure occurred. Where should I upload this image?

A better way would be to use OCR (optical character recognition) on the image and post the text here (using the </> button at the top of the Reply window to enclose it in code formatting). That’s something those AI things are surprisingly good at — although please proof-read just in case.
I don’t use image hosting sites myself, so I’ll leave any suggestions regarding those to others.

As BG405 said. Images have the problem of disappearing eventually, leaving your post lacking context. If the text is in the actual post, as pre-formatted block, it’ll stay as long as the post exists. This is meaningful in the sense of forming an archive for people to search through when they have issues.
And trust me: I know how it’s like, when you have to get something out of the start-up when the system doesn’t start all the way.
Is it possible to do a rollback ? (btrfs / timeshift)

This can be done from an usb/iso even when the system does not start.

Not just that; such images aren’t searchable in the way plain text is; this essentially requires us to use some form of OCR to do this. ![]()

Before I joined the forum, I wanted to understand as much as I could about linux. I used manjaro-charoot -a and and ran some commands and did my best not to damage the current install.

I ran the journalctl -b -x -p3, Kernal Ring Buffer, and Timshift. They returned some info. not much. I can post the information if you feel it would be useful.

As for those 12s, this is an issue with inxi when used in a chroot environment, at present at least, so I also left a little tip at the bottom of your post for how to avoid this (inxi -zv8c0) which will hopefully help if you need to post updated results.

I can’t really see anything wrong (so far) in those outputs (the GRUB error messages referring to sdc can obviously be ignored, since that’s your flash drive).
What I might suggest if it’s accessible is to remove the Windows disk (as I see this appears to be a dual-boot system) and then re-run the grub update within manjaro-chroot again; see if this makes any difference?
Removed the windows drive.
Loaded manjaro-chroot -a from live boot disk
Updated the GRUB ([manjaro /]# grub-install – target=x86_64-efi – efi-directory=/boot/efi – bootloader-id=manjaro – recheck)
No errors, exited and booted the system, it stalled at the same point.
Loaded live manjaro again, entered chroot, ran the following. ([ -f /var/lib/pacman/db.lck ] && rm -f /var/lib/pacman/db.lck
