System Performance Slow After Update

Hello.

I’ve noticed my laptop has slowed down significantly after a recent update in which my manjaro OS broke and I had to reinstall grub since the update didn’t finish. Everything from opening applications to booting and shutting down is several times slower than it used to be. And this is despite my system still running with significant room for more processing tasks and memory usage. Below is a snapshot of the system resource use, Ironically it took spectacle about a minute to successfully open after I called it.

And here is the full system information. Please feel free to request for more information if necessary.

Looking at the task manager, I see that most of the top slots when sorted by memory usage are taken by Google Chrome as can be seen below.

Still there’s a lot of leeway for memory and CPU usage.

It’s honestly absurd how slow it has become. I would appreciate any advice.

Browsers with multiple tabs can be heavy, regardless the system and depending on the loaded pages …

At least you recovered the system, but you forgot to address the nvidia drivers

Check that and what drivers is compatible to your GPU, and since is a hybrid setup, make sure you install the correct hybrid drivers …

Might consider using a swapfile or maybe go by the zram-generator
