Hi!
A few weeks ago, I noticed that my system isn’t working as expected after a full upgrade.
I have some micro-hangs without any error/warning message.
I suspect it’s related to the windows manager only, because If I have music in background, I still hear it while the system is unresponsive.
I share some hardware details, but maybe you need something else.
I’ve already tried what it’s suggested in the related post “My system is hanging intermittently” but no success.
Thank you.

There was recently problems with kernels 6+, amd, and mesa …
But I see you are using 5.15 …
Lets just see what update says:
sudo pacman -Syu
That was fast !
The system is fully upgraded.
When I first noticed this behavior, I started to check for updates almost every day just in case a new fix was available.
These are the only packages suggested to upgrade today
brave-browser-1.52.130-1 libpamac-11.5.5-2
libpamac-flatpak-plugin-11.5.5-1 libpamac-snap-plugin-11.5.5-1
But what is the output of the command?
(please use pacman
as typed, not pamac
)
Some packages were rolled back recently.
Ok.
This is the result
$ sudo pacman -Syu

...el sistema ya está actualizado.
OK … what I said sorta applies to hello … but its not the source of your problem.
(you can fix it by pointing at it: sudo pacman -Syu manjaro-hello
)
Can you please give a full inxi:
inxi -Fazy
I did the trick with manjaro-hello
to avoid the message, thank you.
This is the full output

I’m rather doubtful any of these things are the culprit, but I’ll mention them nonetheless
You may want to create some SWAP.
Heres a quick guide for a swapfile:
A rule used to be ‘equal to RAM’ … though that is really only necessary if you want to use hibernation.
If you use something like systemd-swap it will just make some on the fly as needed.
If you want a set size … you might make use of a swapfile … that way you dont need to mess with partitions. Heres an example … (we will go with 8 gigs, edit as you like):
To start we will create the file at a proper place:
cd / && sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1M count=8192 status=progress
Then we s…
I think you have BIOS updates.
I’ll try the BIOS update and I’ll come back with the results!
But about the SWAP, I think it isn’t required having 64GB of RAM. Or maybe I’m wrong?

Ostensibly it shoudnt really be needed if you never reach the limit of your memory … but with software like gnome its possible it expects it in some way.
Hi again and thank you for the support.
I’ve created a small 4GB Swap just in case, and updated the BIOS to 1.16.0.
But today I still experience these small hangs.
What else could be causing this issue?
After disabling some Gnome extensions, the problem got solved (climate, etc.).
I found it because gnome-shell
was consuming too much RAM.
Thank you.
