System freeze after some minutes

Hello,

I’ve installed manjaro just now in a dual boot system with Windows 11. When I work with Manjaro after some minutes i get a system freeze and I have to restart my pc. Sometimes it comes after 5 minutes, somtimes after 15 minutes.

With Alder Lake you may switch to the newest stable kernel 5.17 first. Some performance fixes have been backportet to 5.15, though 5.17 will generally perform better according to reports.

There are BIOS updates available B660 GAMING X DDR4 (rev. 1.0) Support | Motherboard - GIGABYTE Global and one very important is related to system stability …

what do you mean with spam in logs? I’m new in linux.

with spam i mean a lot of the same logs are repeating

thank you both. bios and kernel are now updated. lets see if it works.

EDIT:
it already runs about 40 minutest with the updates. as i mentioned at the beginning, it usually only runs for 5-15 minutes. looks like it will work. going to give an update in few hours and eventually close this thread.

it doesn’t seem that spam logs are existing

just to be sure can you post a screenshot of it

uploaded a screenshot, but there are more than 1000 logs.

looks good, no spam
so go to system settings/search/file search and uncheck all of those options, click apply

done, thank you.

so during the next boot check if you still have freezing…

i dont have freezing anymore, thank you. i think it was the kernel update. i have read that many with alder lake had the same problem.
