Symbol lookup error whenever trying to launch a GUI application from shell

Whenever I try to open a GUI app from the terminal I get this:
symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libtracker-sparql-3.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name
Also when trying to launch pamac, I get a similar error:
symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libsoup-3.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_task_set_static_name
If I try to grep inside the file causing issues I get this as the output:
g_task_set_static_name
I have tried reinstalling glib2 which I believe(gpt-4 told me) is what they both depend on, but it is still not working. I also tried to reinstall/uninstall the fonts to see if that is causing an issue(particularly Cairo font). Any help regarding this will be appreciated. Also, this is my first time using a Linux support forum so forgive me if I am verbose enough(Yes I am new to the whole thing).

Welcome to the forum!

Are you fully up to date? See Pacman-mirrors - Manjaro

Hey Yochanan, thanks for replying. I am using default mirrors, my Pacman-mirrors version is 4.23.1, I have done sudo Pacman -Syu whenever I was trying to install something. I have also run the commands with fast-track; therefore, I think I am up to date. Tell me what else I can do.

Just to be sure, what versions of the affected programs do you have installed?

pacman -Qi tracker3 libsoup3 libpamac pamac-gtk | grep Version
Version : 3.5.2-1
Version : 3.4.2-1
Version : 11.5.4-1
Version : 10.5.1-2

Here is the output I hope it helps

The packages are up to date. I just wanted to double check as the most common reason for the problems you described are caused by being in a partial upgrade state with mismatched libraries.

Since this is not the case, my only other guess is you’ve installed either AUR packages or manually installed things locally that are interfering. No one else has reported anything vaguely similar, so it’s something local on your system causing the issue either way.

Interesting update,
If I use say “thunar” as a superuser(sudo) then the GUI opens up, but it shows some warnings on the terminal; below is the output of running the command

sudo thunar
thunar: Failed to initialize Xfconf: Error spawning command line “dbus-launch --autolaunch=4bb4cc1d89094824bc6ed9837022f55c --binary-syntax --close-stderr”: Child process exited with code 1

(thunar:13321): thunar-WARNING **: 01:13:19.234: Name 'org.xfce.FileManager' lost on the message dbus.

(thunar:13321): thunar-WARNING **: 01:13:19.234: Name 'org.freedesktop.FileManager1' lost on the message dbus.
ThunarThumbnailer: failed to create proxy: Error spawning command line “dbus-launch --autolaunch=4bb4cc1d89094824bc6ed9837022f55c --binary-syntax --close-stderr”: Child process exited with code 1

Maybe this can act as a clue and help fix whatever is wrong locally?

Never run a GUI with sudo. When something is not working as expected, there’s a reason for it. Running it with sudo is NEVER a “workaround”.

Absolutely not. There are errors running Thunar the wrong way that are not related to your issue.
