My graphical session boots using tty1, but when I press CTRL+ALT+F2 I don’t get the textual virtual terminal, I see only a frozen SDDM screen, while with F3,F4,F5,F6 it works fine.

This is unfortunately the result of the latest SDDM not being deterministic regarding what tty
it uses — it varies all the time.
I believe there’s an upstream bug report against it already.
Mine is blank on tty1, graphical session is on 2, but it doesnt always get automatically seated …
(so some of the time, but not always, after login I must press Ctrl+Alt+F2)
Otherwise tty’s work as expected.
It’s an eventual SDDM bug SDDM 0.20 uses random TTY, breaks autostart programs needing X server · Issue #1777 · sddm/sddm · GitHub
