I have a laptop with a fan that crashes and grinds regularly (because it’s not a Delta Electronics fan). It has the latest Manjaro GNOME Testing installed. When the fan crashes and grinds, I send the computer into sleep mode. If there are any file transfers in progress, it just sits at the lock screen perpetually. With Windows, the system is down immediately regardless of any file transfers, which easily resume later. Because Manjaro GNOME didn’t suspend, it was grinding for too long, and is now persistently jammed and out-of-order. As such, it’s not possible to collect the information or logs requested.
That is unfortunate - as no one knows or even can know what is going on.
… not just you, sitting in front of the unit and thus the only one to be able to provide data …
I very much doubt that this is the reason.
… speculation is not going to help
but without data
only speculation is possible
The laptop fan was finally replaced, so this is the information from inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --width
