Stutter when moving cursor near the second screen

Hello! It is my first time posting anything here so I hope I don’t mess anything up

Here is the rundown of my issues: After upgrading my PC (swapped everything other than GPU), whenever I get close with my cursor (or drag a window) to the second screen, the system becomes incredibly stuttery to the point where it is unusable. I tried a fresh install, different distro (fedora), changing the driver to nouveau and disabling the integrated graphics with no success. In every one of those scenarios whenever I cross the half of my main screen that is close to the second one, the stutter begins. I also noticed that it didn’t happen when I was using Live USB when reinstalling Manjaro.

Here is the output of inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width:

It sounds like your problem might be connected to using two monitors with different refresh rates.
Can you provide the output of xrandr?

I’ve previously been running the same monitor setup on Manjaro KDE without any issues but maybe some update changed something? I’ve also tried previously setting both monitors to 60Hz with the same results. Anyway, here is the output:

If you disable your secondary monitor in System Settings, do the stutters disappear?

Also check if disabling KWin Compositor helps.
To disable it:

qdbus org.kde.KWin /Compositor suspend

To enable it back:

qdbus org.kde.KWin /Compositor resume

Disabling secondary screen in system settings gets rid of the stutter. Disabling KWin Compositor didn’t help.

Switch back to NVIDIA proprietary drivers and try this solution

This is going to sound stupid but it was a mouse issue :man_facepalming:. I’ve spend some more time on it and noticed that the stutter only affected the mouse while apps ran smoothly.

The problem was that my wireless mouse was connected to a USB Hub which didn’t cause any issues on Windows but broke on any linux distro I’ve tried. Connecting the receiver directly to the PC solved the issue.

I’m honestly embarrassed that I didn’t spot this earlier.
