Stuck on Starting version 250.3-3-manjaro

When I try to boot the system displays Starting version 250.3-3-manjaro and never moves beyond that. I can hear the audio pop coming on as it loads that driver, but nothing else.

I’m able to get into terminal with ALT+F2 and have done a system update with “pacman -Syu” followed by a reboot, but the issue remains.

System info added.

First had to figure out how to pipe the output to a file and then how to mount an ntfs partition to copy the file to. That way I’m now able to paste it here from my windows partition.

See Configure Graphics Cards - Manjaro

For that one you need the video-nvidia-470xx driver …

Thanks for the pointers to the GPU drivers! Issue is finallly resolved and I’m back into the desktop environment!

I first attempted an automatic install with:

sudo mhwd -a pci nonfree 0300

but received error:

> Using config 'video-nvidia-470xx' for device: 0000:01:00.0 (0300:10de:1180 Display controller nVidia Corporation GK104 [GefForce GTX 680]
Error: config 'video-nvidia-470xx' conflicts with config(s): video-nvidia

Listing the drivers showed:

mhwd -l --pci
> 0000:01:00.0 (0300:10de:1180) Display controller nVidia Corporation:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                  NAME VERSION FREEDRIVER TYPE

    video-nvidia-470xx 2021.12.18 false PCI
    video-nvidia-390xx 2021.12.18 false PCI
           video-linux 2018.05.04 true PCI
     video-modesetting 2020.01.13 true PCI

I then removed the existing installed driver (whatever it was!?)

sudo mhwd -r pci video-nvidia

and installed the 470xx driver:

sudo mhwd -i pci video-nvidia-470xx

Still curious what the cause was since I had a perfectly working system and this occured after a system upgrade.
