Stuck at login after update, no tty access

tried to install qflipper using this guide. Updated everything along the way. After that, login screen shows, i enter the correct password and nothing happens. Switching to tty via f keys just shows me same login screen. Currently booted with a live usb.

Looks like you might have entered a whole world of hurt by following those obviously out-of-date instructions which list incorrect dependencies & follow-up actions that are also probably incorrect. I can’t help you with the login issue, but once you can successfully access your system (maybe using manjaro-chroot from a live USB? - I’ve never had to do that, so others here may be able to advise), the following advice may be helpful:

Why didn’t you just install one of the qflipper packages in the AUR? It took me less than 30 seconds to search the Pamac GUI, select the precompiled version of qflipper (AUR (en) - qflipper-bin) & build it with all of the required dependencies automatically installed. And it opened fine in my KDE Wayland session on my Stable branch system:

I also rebooted afterwards to see if it caused any login issues & had no problems logging in.

I would recommend that you undo all of the changes you did while following the Reddit instructions (eg sudo make uninstall to get rid of the version of qflipper that you installed, deleting the 42-flipperzero.rules file from /etc/udev/rules.d/ and so on), reboot & then install the qflipper-bin package from the AUR via the Pamac GUI or by typing pamac build qflipper-bin in a terminal (don’t use sudo & make sure you have the base-devel package installed as it is required for building many AUR packages).

That’s about all the help I can give - hopefully the login error messages will disappear after you reverse all of the changes to your system that you made.

Probably worth adding that if you are going to enable AUR and plan to use it, it’s worth moving to at least testing if not the unstable branch outright so as to be closer aligned with the upstream Arch that the Arch User Packages are being built and distributed for.
