Welcome to Manjaro! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

  1. Please read the information behind this link. It will help you to post necessary information. [HowTo] Provide System Information
  2. Please press the three dots below your post and then press the :pencil2:
  • If you give us information about your system, we can see what we’re talking about and make better suggestions.
  • You can do this by using inxi in a terminal or in console.
inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width
  • Personally identifiable information such as serial numbers and MAC addresses are filtered out by this command
  • Presenting the information in this way allows everyone to be familiar with the format and quickly find the items they need without missing anything.
  1. Copy the output from inxi (including the command) and paste it into your post.

inxi can be run without chroot

Thanks for your time.
Done.

After analysing inxi and your errorlogs:

The error-messages:

  • grub error
sdb1 is a iso without any usefull Grub info
This is probably the Device you booted from (not relevant)
  • mount errors:
Seem to be not relevant, because they do state, that it is not possible to mount your windows partitions in chroot (which is not needed anyway)

So remaining is:

which means:
Mounting (ManjaroLinux) [/dev/sda6] → mount: [/mnt] :heavy_check_mark:
Mounting (efi-fat partition) [/dev/sda1] → mount: [/mnt/boot/efi] :heavy_check_mark:

So everything is alright. You could have proceeded in chroot

What i suggest:

  • Boot, then when it is stuck, goto console with CTRL+ALT+F2
  • try to start X with startx
  • look into the logs, why it did not start at /var/log/…(xorg.log)

CTRL+ALT+F2 doesn’t work

I’m having the same issue still, it’s been 3 months and I can’t update anything because of this. I’m unable to use the console because my computer doesn’t respond to the keyboard(s).

Any solution?

youll need to again boot into live usb, enter chroot:

  • sudo manjaro-chroot -a
  • post the output from these commands:
    mhwd-kernel -li
    mhwd -li
    then we will continue
