I have some strange issues with my ROCCAT Vulcan AMIO 120.
First of all I want do exclude the fact that my keyboard has an unique factory failure. I’ve tested this behaviour with my gf’s keyboard (same as mine) and have the same issues.
When I plug the keyboard in the backpanel of my tower my USB headset microfone does not work. The mic is detected but not able to record sound. The earphones work.
When I plug the keyboard in the frontpanel my headset works fine.
An other strange thing I’ve noticed is that sometimes when I start my PC the login screen is like freezing. Every hover effect and my mouse cursor is working. But when I try to select my user by eather clicking with my mouse or pressing enter on my keyboard nothing happen. When I then unplug my keyboard it seams like all the commands I pressed are fired and my user is selcted magically. When I then plug my keyboard back in I can type normaly and the full UI is working.
and post some more information so we can see what’s really going on. Now we know the symptom of the disease, but we need some more probing to know where the origin lies…
An inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width would be the minimum required information… (Personally Identifiable Information like serial numbers and MAC addresses will be filtered out by the above command)
Update your BIOS first if there is a newer version as this smells like a firmware issue.
P.S. If you enter a bit more details in your profile, we can also see which Desktop Environment you’re using, which CPU/GPU you have, …
Sorry about missing information. This is my first post on this forum and i didnt thought on that.
I’ve checked my BIOS version. I’ve version 4801 which seems to be the latest. My profile now includes some information about my setup.
The output of inxi --admin --verbosity=7 --filter --no-host --width is:

No need to do anything right now as I’m an editor here on this site and have fixed it for you already. However, in the future I might not see your post so review my edits by pushing the orange pencil above the post I just fixed.
You’re on Gnome, so I can only give you general instructions as I’m on KDE:
Go to keyboard hardware and layout (not keyboard settings)
set the keyboard model to the one that most closely resembles yours.
That’s all the advice I can give you, so if that doesn’t work, we’ll need a Gnome expert to help you out.
