Steam: Installation of Microsoft DirectX for Windows hangs

Hello

I know Biomutant, the Game in question here runs fine, already had it up and running with Manjaro.

Since the Last fresh install of system, when I try to run the Game from Steam, I am stuck with “First Time Setup: installing Microsoft DirectX for Windows” screen.

Just does not do anything there.
Other games, also using Proton, work perfectly fine, e.g. Cyberpunk, Control, Doom.

System is an AMD RX6800 and a R5 5600X
Kernel 5.12.x

Any Help ist appreciated

thanks, but this is not helping - I diod that already.
there are no tips foir this exact issue.

Try to delete the proton prefix (the whole folder) at

~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/597820

It should be recreated on the next start. Maybe there is an Issue.

Also try to force a different Proton Version, maybe there is a problem?

Kernel 5.12.x

Kernel 5.12 is EOL so please install both 5.4 and 5.10 LTS (Long Term Support) and see which one of the two troubles you least.
