Static noise in headphones since last update

Today I wanted to use my headphone by connecting it to my Asus X550LB, kernel 5.9.16-1, KDE laptop but I was greeted by static noise. I can use the headphones and e.g. listen to music but the static is there all time. The volume of the noise does not change by increasing/decreasing the general volume. Otherwise, the headphone works fine when connected to other devices (e.g. phone).
