In [Stable Update] 2026-07-11 - Kernels, COSMIC 1.2, Xorg, Firefox, Thunderbird, KDE Gear - #2 by discobot there is a guide mentioned for X11 users (“read our guide below”). There is no guide though. Where can I find it?

Also, where can I post about issues with this forum? There is something weird going on which prevents me from searching for a string on a forum thread (like this one) using the browser search like on any normal website. Posts seem to be unloaded when they go offscreen.

Thanks for pointing that out. I just removed it as it’s no longer relevant–unless for some reason you haven’t updated since Last December. See [Stable Update] 2025-12-08 - 25.1 Anh-Linh Preview - #2 by discobot. I aim to keep about 6 months worth of links in the wiki post, I must have missed that the last time I did some trimming.

After completing the update, I was met with a black screen instead of the login screen, but could still access tty2 and onwards. I did the steps to migrate to Plasma Login Manager that were mentioned in the post and rebooted, and could access the login screen again. But then I noticed that it was taking longer to boot up and was experiencing the issue others mentioned of my screen brightness being dimmer. After switching from kernel 6.18 to 6.12, both of those issues were fixed.
