I followed @purplemunchies instructions here (I also have a GTX970
):
First I logged out and switched to a TTY and then this is exactly what I typed afterwards:
sudo pacman -Rsu linux612-nvidia linux618-nvidia nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-utils nvidia-settings
Then immediately after that’s done:
sudo pacman -Syu linux612-nvidia-575xx linux618-nvidia-575xx nvidia-575xx-utils lib32-nvidia-575xx-utils nvidia-575xx-settings
After executing the last command it will install the specified drivers and update the entire system as well with it…
I rebooted after that and i’m typing this now from there…
^ and I also did a quick test to make sure that everything is in order… ![]()

You need to actually tell mhwd to use the driver you installed as described below. My bad. ![]()
I guess my system was using the free driver maybe? It was ‘video-nvidia’ before and now its ‘video-nvidia-575xx’ after running the commands above.
