The Gnome GUI password input when requesting authentication has transparent entry buttons.

I did see a suggested fix in an unlisted topic that may be related to your issue:

Invisible buttons in log out, restart and turn off dialogs with white theme

I found a solution for this problem. There is a gnome extension Light Style. This extension changes default dark theme to light.
