Quick testing with my “must work” things all went fine, using Plasma and Wayland.
(godot engine, python, TeXstudio, RawTherapee, steam, GuildWars 2 via Proton experimtenal, Firefox, video playback with ffmpeg)
Also, fractional scaling in gwenview is fixed \o/
Two things I found:
The kernel selection from the manjaro-settings-manager used to have a page in the KDE System Settings. This is either missing or not working.
Manjaro-settings-manager itself works perfectly fine though.
With Kernel 6.9 plymouth gets stuck on the boot animation on my system. (Framework 13, AMD 7640U)
System start → LUKS unlock screen works fine → boot animation forever.
If I drop plymouth with escape from the unlock screen it boots fine. Disabling plymouth also works fine.
After the update plasma dies on boot (journalctl reports plasma dies and dumps). I can still log in and run programs, but behind them there is a black void with no signs of DE. I don`t have time to fight the issue atm so i just timeshifted back.
I had to redo them either way. A warning would have been nice.
I thought that was one of the default themes, is it not?
I did not do any customization on that. It never used the system theme (at least not the one that was set), but it seems to be now able to grab part of it.

Am I missing something? Kernel section is gone from the menu on Plasma 6! How do we install/remove kernels if you don’t want to use command line Konsole? That was a beautiful feature of Manjaro!

I apologize if mentioning AUR is not suitable here but although I have AUR support enabled in Pamac gui there is no AUR under repositories tab and I cannot search any AUR packages.

hmm … Is there perhaps a simple way to prevent KDE stuff from being updated?
e.g. with as few ignore options like framework…all the other packages that are not related to KDE6 should continue to be updated.
Breeze Dark
If I have it selected, the icons in the dolphin sidebar and tabs are no longer the symbolic ones.
If I select Breeze as the icon theme it works. Looking at the folders both have the symbolic icons, so I am confused.
Also changing the volume no longer makes a sound, but it is enabled, so maybe all my theming is a little wonky, is there a good way to reset that to defaults and try again?
