With my System (Zen 3 + 7900xt) i just have my screen turn off after boot

I had a somewhat similiar issue on unstable and testing - it was caused by amd-ucode package.

While my issue was fixed with a rebuild of the package - and that package should have made it to stable - you can can test if it is related by

• boot to grub - hold shift while booting
• press e to edit the highlighted entry
• add the number 3 at the end of the kernel command line
• press F10 to boot to TTY
• login as root
• remove package pacman -R amd-ucode
• run mkinitcpio -P
• run grub-update -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
• reboot the system

If it works - - if it does not - it is something else

No direct issues, however:

On running yay -Syu I find that opencl-mesa is not available in AUR. Checking:

• the installed version is one build by Manjaro maintainers (so not an AUR install)
• it was installed as a dependency
• the package (virtualgl) needing it is still installed (it actually calls for opencl-driver).
• pacman -Ss opencl-driver lists several options.

Therefore, I assume that it has been removed as obsolete, what is the recommended replacement?

Chrooted into the system and it seems there is a gpu hang after some drm issues the. Your trick also does not work unfortunately. So the second time in 2 months manjaro bricks itself

And in that sentiment - regressions in kernel sources has nothing to do with Manjaro as distribution.

My system is in some aspects similiar to yours and besides the hickup with the amd-ucode - also not a Manjaro issue per se - it is working as expected

Well it is not booting so its bricked. Though i admit I could be less salty about it, but since i move to a metered 4g connection soon until my Fiber arrives downloading 5gb to have to reinstall makes me feel a bit uneasy.

After a few weeks of not updating, I updated a couple days ago and then again today… and noticed something has changed in the pamac GUI… I can no longer click the > in the lower right corner to watch the download, verify, install progress… neither during or post completion.

I understand from reading previous stable threads that there was a shift to GTK4, that a pamac-gtk3 is available, and may even be a pamac-qt on the horizon… is the issue I’m experiencing restricted to the new GTK4 version, and perhaps replacing it with gtk3 would restore the functionality?

Yes, I also used my second SSD to test out how to update without chroot. use mhwd-kernel to install 6.4, then run pacman and then reboot. That makes a manjaro reboot without issue.

I have the arrow with pamac-gtk under KDE-Plasma, it’s just never clickable.

Proceeded to test my own theory and replaced pamac-gtk with pamac-gtk3…

Uninstalled the current orphans with pamac-gtk3 and had no issues clicking the > during the process or post completion. The only time the > was unclickable with pamac-gtk3 was when no operation had been performed yet, or was underway, which makes sense… nothing to see yet.

I think it is only clickable on longer operations. And you first has to hit Apply and then the arrow becomes active. And after the transaction is finished not anymore. As i said, that is on pamac-gtk by me (the default gtk4 variant).

If there is a patch that fixes it inside the kernel — and I already knew about this — then it is a kernel issue. Yes, that much is true, as I said in my previous post. If it were a genuine 100% load, then the temperature readout for that particular CPU core would be a lot higher, as would the total temperature be for the entire processor chip. Still, cosmetic or not, it’s annoying.

Post the update up/down keys are not working in Grub. Neither does the ‘enter’ key. Is anyone facing this issue? Luckily enough Manjaro is pre-selected on Grub for me and when the timer runs out it starts up. But I’m unable to use the keys to choose any other OS listed in Grub.

As you can read on the conversation on the Patch it will be applied on 6.6.
So it’s the choice of the manjaro Team to apply it on the current Kernels.
