[Stable Update] 2023-04-11 - Kernels, Plasma 5.27.4, Phosh, Pipewire 0.3.68, KDE-git

Yes, of course:

command output
$ pamac list --foreign
gnome-icon-theme 3.12.0-6 10,3 MB
gnome-icon-theme-symbolic 3.12.0-6 2,0 MB

manjaro-firmware 20160419-1 2,6 MB
portproton 1.0-13 427,7 KB

There only one package from AUR on my system - portproton. All other packages only from Manjaro standard repositories.

pamac.conf was not modified, except parallel download option, which set to 8: MaxParallelDownloads = 8.

Definitely something weird going on with that setting. I had it on Adaptive, it got changed to Flat after the updateā€¦ but still feels the same as before.

EDIT: 468217 ā€“ xf86-input-libinput 1.3.0 DPI and mouse acceleration issue on KDE Plasma X11

Fix is there.

I have gnome-icon-theme 3.12.0-7

gnome-icon-theme version is 3.12.0-7 on AUR. In my case this package was probaply installed with all others when I install Manjaro Linux, in 2021 December.

Hello,

I have an ā€œinvalid or corrupted databaseā€ message. Itā€™s conflicting with non-free mesa packages database that I installed manually.

What would be the correct way of dealing with this? Iā€™d like to keep the mesa non-free because of hardware acceleration, if it makes sense.

Still getting the screen flickering. Just since the last update, X has been very weird. Flickering and random crashes playing Steam games.

System never booted into desktop (XFCE).

Xorg.0.log says:

[ 973.424] (EE) open /dev/dri/card0: No such file or directory

Resolved by downgrading kernel from 4.19.280-1 to 4.19.279-2.

Have non-default path for docker engine, after the update the path was turned back to the default value which broke all my docker compose installations. Had to return data-path in /lib/systemd/system/docker.service back to my non-default value.

Same here, I was able to force it with this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Mouse_acceleration#with_libinput

Since 2023-04-06 update, gnome tracker3 causes high CPU load.
I tried to disable this by using the settings menu ā†’ search and turn off the application search. But this did not help.
i found this,
https://www.linuxuprising.com/2019/07/how-to-completely-disable-tracker.html
and i have to do

tracker3 reset -s -r

and reboot!

to turn this off.

Same thing happened for this update 2023-04-11.

That command does not ā€œturn offā€ Tracker. It only removes the filesystem and RSS indexer databases. They will be regenerated afterward. See tracker3 reset --help

Can you use a systemd drop-in file instead, so that it does not get overwritten every update?

Here it is, and yes @Jazz I did a reboot.

Thanks for advice, seems it exactly what I need. Really donā€™t know why it hasnā€™t happened earlier.

I have multiple issues.

  1. Bluetooth can no longer be enabled.
  2. Night light is always off at boot, regardless of settings and time.

Please create a separate Support topic for each issue for further assistance.

I have no idea why a bug like this is still in stable update :frowning:

I also wait for a fix, i hope it got sorted out after a few days.

After this update, I was unable to get KDE (on Wayland) to use all 3 of my 2160p monitors. Attempting to set up the display arrangement I had before was silently rejected without error, and only two could be enabled at a time, the last one always being left disabled regardless of config changes.

For the time being, I downgraded kwin, kscreen, and libkscreen to 5.27.3 from the last update, and my third monitor is working normally again.

Since the update yesterday my screen after a time intermittently tears with white & lines, flickering, then blank. Unable to use system. Press power button to poweroff, then Reboot.

I switched off power manager for display so it uses X11,
after changing display options to never blank screen had no effect. Since doing that, it does not appear to be happening, at the moment, so far.

I do not have timeshift installed, just waiting for new updates.
