[Stable Update] 2022-10-10 - Kernels, Octopi, Deepin, GlibC, Haskell, Python; Nvidia 520.56.06

See if samba 4.17.2 fixes the issue.

I fast tracked it to all branches due to security fixes for the following:

CVE-2022-3437
CVE-2022-3592

I can confirm that everything is back to normal with samba 4.17.2.
Thanks a lot for the quick update, solving the bug and the security issues alltogether, very nice :+1:

Update to samba 4.17.2 fixed my issues to edit files in Libreoffice and edit picture in gwenview.

libvirt is buggy sometimes:

libvirtd: Interner Fehler: Missing udev property 'ID_VENDOR_ID' on '5-3.2'

Maybe issue on udev

pcmanfm 1.3.2 failing to cut and paste etc a little. ive looked in the sourceforge (devs bugs reports?) and didnt found bugs related. ive tried to update to kernel 6.0 . Anyway, its not a bad thing since thunar keeps working for me, so please dont reply since ive only came here to help reporting lol

following the best practices of Microsoft perhaps

The right way to “hold it” would be installing the libraries in a closed wm session and rebooting automatically just like Windoze does it

I’m trying to update my system with sudo pamac update, everything went well except it keeps failing when building python 2.7. Is this package deprecated or am I doing something wrong here ?

yes, the actual version is 3.xx. you can install older versions but if there is no special need for an older version keep on the actual-version.

Thanks I’ll just uninstall python2 then

Im not sure what im doing wrong here, but i get error message from your command:

[koboldx@koboldx-z170 ~]$ xrandr --output DP-4 --set dithering On
X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 11 (RRQueryOutputProperty)
Serial number of failed request: 45
Current serial number in output stream: 45
[koboldx@koboldx-z170 ~]$ xrandr --output eDP1-4 --set dithering On
warning: output eDP1-4 not found; ignoring
X Error of failed request: BadRROutput (invalid Output parameter)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 15 (RRGetOutputProperty)
Serial number of failed request: 44
Current serial number in output stream: 44

I looks like that it found DP-4 as output.

In my case I not only had a black screen on boot, but even was unable to switch to another virtual terminal, because as soon as I would switch terminals, the new terminal would also go black.

So I edited the boot options by adding 3 to the kernel line in the GRUB menu to reach non-graphical target, and from there I figured out that the issue was with my gtk3-classic package, which was not updated since I rarely update packages from AUR.

After I updated it, everything was fine.

Hmm. Try eDP-4 ??

Calibre is no longer working since this update.
zsh: segmentation fault (core dumped) calibre

Workaround: install the flatpak.

I could finally fix my problem with another trick… still thanks for trying to help me.

Because there were updates to Deepin packages just as it says. You can search the internet for more information about the project.
