Try closing Spotify and deleting:

~/.cache/spotify

and reboot, or login/out

like this?

cat /etc/spotify-launcher.conf

there is no route in .cache that has the word spotify in the name

It was a possibility.

There would likely be related directories under ~/.config, but as I don’t use Spotify I’m hesitant to suggest deleting those; you might lose settings you want to keep; ofcourse, you could always recreate them. Again; not a Spotify user, so don’t take this as a recommendation.

Solve the problem by manually downloading the file from spotify repository and then running:

spotify-launcher --deb ~/Downloads/spotify-client_1.2.37.701.ge66eb7bc_amd64.deb

But I don’t think it’s the right way to do it.
