Summary

I’m a semi-advanced user, currently diving into the Linux Kernel itself, including modules, compilation and technical details.
I’m curious about the following topics:

  • Is the ryzen_smu-dkms package any good for this specific CPU?
  • Is the zenpower3-dkms package any good?
  • Are there any kernel variables and/or build settings that might be worthy of notice?
  • Are there any specific performance/tinkering/curious bits of info I should('nt) be aware of?

This is low-level stuff that I know I need to be careful with, and so most of this is me trying to understand very specific details. I’ll most definetly not play around with this uninformed, so I’m asking the experts around here.

What is it what you think you gain from installing these packages?

From the comments on both AUR pages, I’d rather not install them. The first one reports that it doesn’t load on Manjaro (however, I guess that’s a user error) and the second one is currently unmaintained.
