Sound stopped working for Manjaro with i3

Hi,

This morning my sound stopped after working fine last time I ran my machine.

I was a long time ubuntu user and recently switched to Manjaro with i3. I really like it but I’ve had a hard time getting sound to work.

I’ve tried to poke around and see what’s happening but a lot of it is going over my head.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot the my audio problems?

Thanks in advance

Your sounds look fine to me.

Try to check the sound mixer setting on i3 or use the alsamixer to check the Volume and output channel.

Thanks for taking a look.

My alsamixer levels appear normal.

This is a the amixer output

[Stable Update] 2023-12-01

Linux 6.5 is EOL and will be removed from the repo.If you use Linux 6.5 and Nvidia or as virtual machine, it is of great importance, that you install Linux 6.6 to avoid driver problems.

sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux66

If audio is not working with new kernel, check audio devices and sink outputs in PulseAudio

pactl list cards; pactl list sinks
