If auto-switching is not working it may be an issue with WirePlumber state
delete WirePlumber’s local state and restart the daemon to see if that helps:

rm -r ~/.local/state/wireplumber/

Then restart the wireplumber.service user unit

systemctl --user restart wireplumber.service
