When I switch my volume lower than 55% it becomes completely muted. I have found related topic but it was closed without any real result
Hi, a bit of system info might be helpful here. At the minimum, inxi -zv8
(paste results, including the command, highlight and click the </> button at the top of the reply window).
Also, please see the “Featured Topic” link accessible by clicking my avatar image. Cheers!
The inxi info will show us what audio you are using, e.g. Pipewire or Pulseaudio, for example, as well as at least some other potentially important information.
Hi there, i have exactly the same problem here, and i didn’t found solution on a topic.
here the result of inxi -zv8 :

Im not a sound expert around Linux, i write only because no one else response to this topic:
This might be fix able with the right adjustments inside the Alsamixer
.
Probably the Volume slider attached to another Value, that might need to be set higher inside alsamixer, you may need more headroom for the Mainvolume slider in KDE.
Just open Terminal and write Alsamixer
and choose your Soundcard (with F6) where you have the problem with. Increase the lower Output volumes around 80%.
6.9 is also EOL, switch to a newer Version or try the latest LTS 6.6 Kernel.
Thanks you for your answer. as you say, I change my kernel to a LTS one. Also see some screenshot when i lower output. still the same problem
You may want to try to install QT version of PulseAudio Volume Control pavucontrol-qt
I just searched our Forum, but i can’t find no related Topic with your issue
Since it looks like, that this is a plasma bug, maybe the KDE Forum could provide better information.
Maybe you also want to give Wayland a try, since you have a AMD System.
You can switch between Wayland and X11 at the login menue (SDDM) at the bottom left.
The OP hasn’t posted since 21 September, but I’d suggest trying Pipewire and see if that behaves any differently, assuming the OP isn’t already using it (no system info provided as per request)?
Edit: I see the second poster is using Pipewire.
I was about to say the same thing - he posted, but never returned or responded.
… save your breath, y’all
OP alleges finding a related topic but no link
Topic was hijacked 4 hours after posting
I see the second poster is using Pipewire.
Second poster should open a new topic to troubleshoot PipeWire and ALSA
