Sort folders before files - open / save dialog

In Thunar there is a setting called “Sort folders before files” (thunar → edit → preferences → display). This applies to thunar only. Where can I find a similar setting that applies to the file open and file save dialogs in all applications?

edit: I’m using xfce

Right click in the open document window → Sort Folders before Files
