Should I use RAID or AHCI?

  • I’m using Manjaro on my 128GB SSD. I also have HDD for data storage which does not have any other operating system.

  • someone recommended I use AHCI, which I already did but every time I remove -to clean it or change the ram- the laptop battery the laptop automatically changes AHCI(Intel Rapid Storage Technology) to RAID.

  • Should I use AHCI or RAID?

This is a sign of a depleted cmos battery.

Whether you should use one technology over another is your decision. It depends on the technology implemented and if it is supported by the kernel - usually you should stick to AHCI as this may be the only way to get your disk recognized by the kernel.
