Shattered screen after login

Hi there. Today I ran into a problem that makes my system unusable. Maybe you can help.

The Login screen is displayed without any problems. After login XFCE fails to show. I use two monitors. The main one shows some friction at the top area. Rest is blacked out. Mouse works.

I encountered this before every now and then (not often). In the past I booted my second system (Trisquel), opened an ssh and rebooted Manjaro. After reboot XFCE did come up normally. Until today. So far neither machine reboot did bring up XFCE.

My Manajro is up to date and it worked these last day without problems.

Via Trisquel notebook I have access to journalctl during XFCE boot. (Output appended)

Would really appreciate ideas. Thanks.

post script…

After like 15 reboots XCFE finally came up. Still, I don’t consider this a stable system any longer and would greatly appreciate insights. There must be a misconfiguration or something. If anyone of you pros has an idea, I’d welcome it.

PPS: As a side note. I really loved the distro these last 8 years. I had like 4 or 5 severe crashes but always managed to repair the damage. This incident today kind of broke the camel’s back. I am strongly considering (99% sure) switching to MX Linux. I cannot recommend Manjaro for end users anymore due to it’s instability. I am a programmer, not a sysadmin, and need the OS every day. It’s hard to explain OS failures to customers. I actually love the distro - but Manjaro is way too shaky for running a daily business.

PPPS: Still interested in resolving that issue though! THANKS!!!
