Search function at the application launcher does not work

as described the quick search function of the application launcher is not working anymore. i hope someone can help.

Is Baloo running?

System Settings → Workspace → Search

no it’s deactivated

Try activating it, but be aware that it’ll take some time (and CPU cycles) to populate. You don’t necessarily need to index file content ─ which is very CPU-intensive ─ but indexing filenames is something I myself would recommend.

thanks for your help but if the search function does only work with active balloo than i give a shit to it and will not use it anymore.
