If I want to take a screenshot, i press a key to select an area. It last longer than 10 seconds until i get a response. From that on everything works fine.
This is tool and system dependent.
When you want to select an area - the tool buffers the entire screen(s) - like a full screen shot - displays it and saves the area you select.
Often - when you want to capture a particular part e.g. a menu - you need a short time to activate the menu before the actual shot takes place.
This timeout is configurable in the relevant tool’s settings.

You are right! Im using gnome screen-shot-record as gnome-screenshot 41.0
. It’s needs more than 10s to start the program manually
