Screenshot to Clipboard

With the sunsetting of the standalone Manjaro Screenshot app in favor of the Wayland compatible Screenshot Shell app, the copy-to-clipboard functionality got lost afaik.

Happens to be my most common use of screenshots though. I almost never have a need to permanently save them and clipboards make workflow so much easier.

Thoughts on why this got lost, and how to bring it back?

Hi @ilo_0x,

I personally use Flameshot on Plasma Wayland and it works without an issue. So I recommend it. It has an option to save ore to copy the screenshot, IIRC.

It’s in the extra repository:

$ pamac search flameshot
[...]
flameshot 13.3.0-2 [Installed] extra
Powerful yet simple to use screenshot software

So you can install it with:

pamac install flameshot

Hope this helps!

Spectacle still works fine for me in Plasma, in Wayland, as it has done for the past two or more years. Each to their own, I suppose.

I’ve also used (to give it a shot) ksnip successfully in the past. Flameshot just suits me better.

Yea, Spectacle works as intended for me too. I have completed the update yesterday.

I do use the copy feature all the time.

I didn’t know of ksnip (now bookmarked) though the name reminded me of a veterinary procedure of some kind.

There is no such thing.

Which would be…?

We have no idea what you’re referring to in either regard.

Each DE (Desktop Environment); i.e., KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, etc. has their own included implementation.
