Screen resolution on Startup

stating the current resolution is set to 3840x2160 instead of the recommend of 2560x1440

Is the resolution correct, despite the apparent error message?

Update:- The following appears to be the same (or similar) to the issue you’re experiencing – Solved, as indicated in the thread:

Create a profile when your display is connected and when not. It should detect your screen then automatically. Note that it saves the monitor name, thus you need to create a profile for each monitor. xfce:xfce4-settings:4.14:display [Xfce Docs]
