I made these and still, screen locks itself.
In power managemnt settings, i both select “turn off screen” when lid is close for ac and battery.
I changed
#HandleLidSwitch=ignore
#LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited=yes
in /etc/systemd/logind.conf
i restart the system with systemctl restart systemd-logind
. and i restart my computer.
then i changed IgnoreLid=true
in /etc/UPower/UPower.conf
it still locks when i close the lid.
edit: i changed upower.conf to default (false) and made HandleLidSwitch=ignore
to HandleLidSwitch=suspend
. it still locks but but i got used to it. I close the laptop lid to suspend the computer and lock the system so no one gets in. If I’m going to enter later, I choose suspend manually.
Hi @unknown222,
Do us a favor and uncomment the HandleLidSwitch
line.
HandleLidSwitch=ignore
Just makes sense to me.

I do not have, or use either Xfce or a laptop, it just made sense to me.
thanks for the tip, but thats not the problem. it didnt work. i uncomment both, restart the systemd-logind, and then restart my computer. still nothing.
I believe that topic has been discussed many times. Have you not found anything relevant?
