I did reinstall them in console mode on stucked boot/login phase, will it make a difference to reinstall them in current wayland
GUI mode?
this:
Warning, couldn't open module nv
[ 591.382] (EE) Failed to load module "nv" (module does not exist, 0)
[ 591.383] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module fbdev
[ 591.383] (EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
maybe this is the reason…
if reinstalling in console didnt help, uninstall them first, then reboot and then install them again, reboot
Delete video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime
, then video-modesetting
, and leave video-linux
?
yes, removing hybrid should remove also the modesseting, if it doesnt remove it also, reboot and then install them again with the mhwd nonfree command, reboot
No avail, same story.
The only notes are that:
- deleting
video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime
does not deletevideo-modesetting
(while the latter depends on the former) -
video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime
depends onnvidia-utils
which should be removed first to proceed deleting
Backed to sloppystartplasma_wayland
.
i dont know whats with it… you could try reinstall xorg:
pamac reinstall xorg-server
Tackling with nvidia
and kde
is the most thing that makes Manjaro cause a durable pain.

yes nvidia and kde there is problem… i only use intel graphics, nvidia is disabled, because its laggy…
i would suggest when you have time to boot into manjaro live usb, select nonfree drivers and check if there are also issues… not reinstalling, just checking … we tried reinstall, uninstall, using only intel graphics, different kernels, and nothing worked…
declared issues: Problem with latest version of video-hybrid-intel-nvidia-prime Version 2021.12.18 - #3 by bogdancovaciu
would be worth a try to install the hybrid 470xx drivers…
