Screen flickering on plasma 6 wayland

Hello everyone!!

This is my first post here, I apologise if I break any conventions. I switched from Windows to Linux and have been using it for the past couple months. I currently have KDE plasma 6 running on wayland.

I keep getting flickering on my main 165 Hz monitor. I figure it has something to do with the high refresh rate.

This only happens when I close a window. And it doesn’t happen on my second monitor unless the window is not maximized on the main monitor. Also on the second monitor the flickering only happens on the top title bar (idk if that makes sense).

I don’t know how to upload a video here, and I keep getting a message that I cannot include links to my post. I have a video shared on google drive about the screen flickering.

I have only done some light customization. Namely, added a top panel and installed widget.

I have a Radeon RX 7800xt and an Intel i7-12700K cpu.

If any further information is required, I would be happy to provide it.

Hello,

I believe the flickering was because I changed the Preferred Ozone platform flag to Wayland in my browser. I reverted it back to default and the flickering seems to have disappeared.

Putting this here in case anyone else is having this issue.
