Rx 6700 xt is not properly detected

I’m not sure if the tittle is misleading but I think my graphics card is not being properly detected. I normally use nvidia graphics card so all these problems are new to me. For drivers, I just used open-source drivers when installing and only change kernel from 5.10 to 5.12. I listed a couple of “problems” that I noticed the past 3 days.

When I do a neofetch it gives me: AMD ATI 03:00.0 Navi 22
What I expect is: RX 6700 XT
I expect this behavior because I have been using nvidia gpus for the past 5 years. So please let me know if this is normal.

My second problem is that I can’t get openCL working. I’m a self proclaimed part time crypto miner so I read another post which suggested installing opencl-amd from the AUR. Now clinfo returns a wall of text instead of a zero. So I though problem solved. But the mining software still get errors about openCL. Is it something not related to manjaro? Is it better to ask the developers of the software?

Coming from nvidia, I always used watch -n 1 nvidia-smi to monitor stats of the graphics card. So I use radeontop as a replacement. What I noticed here is that on the top it says UNKNOWN_CHIP. Is this normal?

So after doing some more “research” I come to conclusion that because the graphics card is relative new some software just doesn’t work yet. Installing opencl-amd did help with a lot of programs but if the software is not supported then it wil just not work.

So to answer my 3 problems.

Crypto mining, the devs aren’t bothered to add 6700 xt as it is too expensive to buy and develop. What I did notice that when the rx 5000 series was released, it had the same problems as I am having now. At this moment, most of the mining programs are supporting the 5000 series. So I hope the problem will solve itself in the coming months.

As for the radeontop saying UNKNOWN_CHIP, I checked the github page and noticed that the last commit was 7 months ago. I hope it wil fix itself in the coming months. Not that it breaks anything but it was a bit confusing to me.
