Rhythmbox can't load module python3loader

After update, I see error when starting Rhythmbox on commandline. Looked there because some plugins do not work anymore.

(org.gnome.Rhythmbox3:954): libpeas-WARNING **: 16:55:56.477: Failed to load module 'python3loader': /usr/lib/libpeas-1.0/loaders/libpython3loader.so: kan gedeeld objectbestand niet openen: Bestand of map bestaat niet

In english: “cant load module python3loader”, “shared object file not found, file does not exist”
System fully update on testing, no problems before the update from 18 january…

Thanks !
Greetz, Eddy

Did you read the info about the python 3.14 update? @Oldhabbits

rhythmbox upstream: Arch Linux - rhythmbox 3.4.8-4 (x86_64) and is flagged out of date so it will have to be rebuilt there.
More info: New version: 3.4.9 (#6) · Issues · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / rhythmbox · GitLab

@philm Yes, I did, but

pacman -Qoq /usr/lib/python3.13/ gives "no packet owns /usr/lib/python3.13"

Thanks anyway

Greetz,
Eddy

Seems it got removed and missed in rythmbox: 1.36.0-7: Remove python3 loader (75310ec6) · Commits · Arch Linux / Packaging / Packages / libpeas · GitLab. So rythmbox needs a rebuild due to the removal.

Rhythmbox Python plugins have been been broken for several months. See:

It already was. :wink:
