Replace linux-firmware with linux-firmware-meta?

Manjaro asks me to “:: Replace linux-firmware with core/linux-firmware-meta? [Y/n]”

When I look into the Arch repo’s ( Arch Linux - Package Search )

I can see linux-firmware but no linux-firmware-meta. No idea what linux firmware has to do with facebook.

Looks like an active package. Should I replace it or not? I’m very confused by this one. Never had that before and my install is 7 years old (last reinstall: Mon Aug 13 13:04:25 2018)

Did you already read the update announcement thread ?

I guess I did not. I read a different one an hour ago. I just saw one that said this:

" * linux-firmware got split into smaller packages. A meta-package ensures basic firmware installation. For stripping it down you may remove it after you have done the upgrade."

Well I guess this is solved, thank you.

A note here…: If you decide to remove the meta-package and the firmware blobs you don’t need, then make sure to mark the firmware packages that you wish to keep as “explicitly installed”, because if you don’t, they will be regarded as orphaned packages, and then they will be removed when you clean out the orphans.
